Greatest Horror Movie Cats Meow off!!
Cats, wonderful companions if you enjoy spending your days with someone who looks at you with pure loathing for simply being alive, knocks stuff off high surfaces for shits and giggles and walks on your face while you sleep just because, you know they can. But hey at least they keep it real..Dogs..no one can be that happy..they’re hiding something.. Let us now honor our feline friends and their acting efforts in horror movies.. The Cats Of : Strays (1991)
This bizarrely straight faced horror from ’91 is the funniest movie you will ever see..that wasn’t meant to be a comedy. A ‘nineties thriller family’ move into a new house only to discover a load of pissed off moggies have claimed the place for their own! Basically if cats hissing frightens you (this is the cats number one strategy for getting rid of the family, “Keep hissing lads, they’ll leave eventually!”) then this probably won’t even scare you..because they’re cats, small furry little grumpy faces and increasing their number doesn’t increase their scariness. But this movie happened and it’s hilarious, it’s on youtube WATCH IT RIGHT NOW! Church : Pet Sematary (1989)
While he was alive, Church enjoyed bedtime snuggle cuddles and purring, after he became undead he enjoyed scratching, hissing and basically being a right bastard. Probably one of the greatest cat villains ever, Church proudly displayed his stinky undead status by rocking up whenever he felt like it ,hissing and hurling himself at people. He also served to show the viewer that burying things in that Indian Burial Ground was just a straight up baaaaad idea. Binx : Hocus Pocus (1993)
Binx was once a boy who was cursed by witches and turned into a cat and he was completely awesome! Binx was a talking cat! A cat that talked, he pretty much takes the cat biscuit. Yes this Disney film isn’t exactly a horror but it is a Halloween classic and Binx made the film endlessly re-watchable. I’m sure I wasn’t the only nine year old who wanted a talking cat after seeing this film…I bet the Santa letters that year were interesting.. The Cats Of Batman Returns (1992)
Selina Kyle is resurrected by hundreds of awesome kitties, who help her become a incredibly sexy badass by um, licking her… all that matters is that these guys were effortlessly cool. As for the cats in that awful Halle Berry Cat Woman film, I’m sorry that you had to suffer that utter indignation and here’s hoping you got yourselves some better agents and at least a few cat treats out of it!
